After stating on numerous occasions that
they would refuse to change their console, Microsoft has chosen to address consumer outrage by removing 24 hour check-ins and allowing game ownership identical to the Xbox 360 model. Players
can trade, lend, gift, sell, and rent games for the Xbox One. Similar to the PlayStation 3 and 4, the Xbox
One will have no regional restrictions. The
intense consumer scrutiny of the Xbox One DRM structure has led to the removal
of these controversial features and will hopefully allow the Xbox One to begin
competing in the next generation market that is currently dominated by pre-orders for the PlayStation 4.
